The Olympics

Here's another thematic display - this time our member collects stamp issues and covers related to the Olympic Games.

Olympic games stamps have been issued for longer than you might expect, with the first issue being that from Greece, the home of the games, in 1896. They were issued to raise funds for the First Games, and to publicise the occasion.

They have continued to be issued for every subsequent games, and the display here shows a small selection from our members' colection.
