Stamps that could not "go all the way": Unusual Temporary "runner" routes


This display tells the story of three of the early postal routes in Africa.

It includes consular mail in Madagascar, as well as mail services in Bechuanaland Protectorate, and in Uganda.

The three services detailed here have one thing in common and that is, that the letters sent via these services was carried by runners.
